Blue Apron rolled out their best deal of the year – get 50% off your first four weeks! We’ve ordered from Blue Apron before and we loved it. . .and this promotion is so good, I signed up again. The meals are delicious and we loved how easy it was to get dinner on the table. Don’t get me wrong – I love to cook, I love to grocery shop and I generally believe you’ll find the best deals when you meal plan and shop sales. But some seasons just require a little more help! We loved that it kept us from eating out.
Some of the reasons why I love meal delivery services :
- My family loves the variety of meals – it gets us out of our dining rut and we find new recipes we add to our rotation
- My kids love making the meals and instructions are easy for them to follow
- Great way to have built-in portion-control and healthy choices (Blue Apron has Weight Watchers-friendly meals)
- Cheaper than eating out but the same feeling (it’s a treat!)
- Delivered to my door – I’m saving on gas and time at store
- Can pause or cancel at anytime
Here’s what it looked like when I placed my order with Blue Apron:
- Start here with Blue Apron and pick whether you want meal kits (that’s what I prefer) or the Prepared & Ready meals.
- Then pick your preferences – Chef Favorites, Wellness (nutritionist-approved), Family Friendly, Fast & Easy and Veggies.
- Then pick your plan size – I opted for four (4) servings and 3 recipes a week (the more you order, the better your cost is per serving – as low as $4).
- Select a start date and enter your delivery/payment information
- Then it asks me about what proteins I prefer – beef, pork, poultry, lamb, shellfish, fish
- And then it gives me 10 meals to choose from!
So I paid $56.94 for three meals to be delivered next week, with four servings per meal. This comes out to $4.75/serving!
Based on my preferences, they gave me a menu but I changed it slightly. I like getting fish and beef – items I don’t normally buy at grocery store. I like the variety and the new recipes!
My total was HALF off. . . so these meals were not $9.49/serving but rather, $4.75.
