Creamy chicken in Crockpot recipe
Looking for a creamy chicken crockpot meal? This is it! It’s incredible easy and it comes out tasting sort of like alfredo sauce, but not quite as rich. You can serve over pasta or rice.
INGREDIENTS
2 chicken breasts
2 Tablespoons butter
1 can Cream of Chicken soup
1/2 Cup chicken broth
I would use low sodium, since there is salt in other ingredients
4 oz cream cheese
1 package of dry italian dressing mix
HOW TO PREPARE
1.) Combine all ingredients in slow cooker.
2.) Cook on low for six (6) hours. If using frozen chicken, switch to high on 6 hours.
3.) When it’s done, break chicken apart with a couple forks before serving.
4.) Serve over cooked pasta (or rice), topped with parmesan cheese.
I really liked this recipe. I don’t care much for Alfredo but this dish gets you a creamy sauce without the richness of Alfredo. The flavors are great and I love how flexible it is. I think it would also taste good with sliced mushrooms, frozen peas or sliced carrots added into the mix! Or you could probably try it with cream of mushroom soup?

I’d love hear what you think and I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
I have been making a similar recipe for years but with half a packet dressing and a whole 8 oz of cream cheese. My question is how salty does this end up being? This is in the crock pot now and I have my fingers crossed.
Hi
I was wondering if you had the nutritional value posted somewhere for this recipe?
This looks so good, plus I love that you can dump everything in the crockpot.
Thanks for sharing your recipe at Fabulously Frugal Thursday. I’m featuring it on tomorrow’s link party.
Any recipe made in a slow cooker is one I’m going to like, especially when it’s served over pasta.
This looks so delicious and it is super-easy! I am definitely going to add this to my crock pit line-up!
I would love for you to come over and link up at Wine’d Down Wednesday if you get a chance. We are partying from now until Friday! Hope to see you there! http://www.dizzybusyandhungry.com/wined-wednesday-link-party-5/
I’m a crock pot fanatic so I will definitely be trying this recipe!! It looks delicious!!
Wow, cream of chicken soup AND cream cheese… do you know of any way to cut down on the fat in this recipe? :S I realize it won’t be as creamy as you want it to be but my goodness, the saturated fat content of this recipe has got to be high 🙁
Healthy Request cream of chicken & 1/3 fat cream cheese (aka neufchatel cheese) both taste really good and would make an excellent swap out for lower fat. 🙂
Great idea Katie!
TY!!
Since it’s two chicken breasts, does it feed only two people? Or does it feed more once all the other ingredients are in there?
I would say combined with a box of pasta it could easily feed a family of 5 or 6 (with leftovers?) A little spoonful goes a long way with the chicken shredded. If you added it to some pasta and gave it a good stir you wouldn’t need much for sauce.
