I stopped into Grocery Outlet today to see what kinds of deals I could find. I like Grocery Outlet specifically for organic and specialty food items that rarely have coupons. Grocery Outlet doesn’t take coupons, but their prices can be amazing even without. The challenge is you never know what you’ll find in store. I ended up spending only $14.16 on everything pictured above. My receipt said I saved $22.70 from retail prices.
Here’s what I ended up getting (and why, because it’s good to have a plan):
- Seven (7) 28 oz cans of Hunt’s Whole Plum tomatoes – I plan to make a huge vat of spaghetti sauce to freeze into meals for this upcoming school year. I generally buy crushed tomatoes, but at this price, I will just puree the tomatoes in the food processor. We’ll see how it works out, but I couldn’t pass up this price on brand name tomatoes in the BIG cans – these are generally $2 – $2.50 at the store.
- Straus organic blueberry/pomegranate yogurt, large tub – Only $2.49. This would regularly retail at anywhere from $3.50 – $4.99 at the store.
- Bag of fresh garlic – $1.99 – I picked this up for the spaghetti sauce and I was out at home.
- Earth’s Best organic single-serve milks – $0.99 cents (only $0.33 cents a milk) I’ve never tried this variety, just Horizon Organics, so we will see wha the kids think.
- Nature’s Path Organic Toaster Pastries – $0.99 cents a box!
- Star Wars fruit snacks – $0.69 cents a box. These are Acme brand, which is the same parent company of Albertsons. My son has just recently become “Star” struck and is obsessed with Star Wars. He’s never seen the shows (I think he’s too young still) and I’ve never even seen the shows, but I couldn’t pass up this little treat.
I bought the milk, toaster pastries and gummy snacks for a project I’m working on, I’ll show you later this week!

What kinds of treasures have you found at Grocery Outlet lately?

On a recent trip to the Lynnwood Grocery Outlet I found a great deal on reuseable acrylic glasses. These are like the ones sold by Starbucks for their cold blended drinks. I’ve seen the exact same glasses at Bartell’s for retail price of $9.99. Grocery Outlet price – $2.99! The glasses have super cute patterns too. I’m thinking this would make a fabulous small gift paired up with a Starbucks gift card or by filling the glass with treats. Another thing I can always find is natural soap. Anyone with soap allergies should shop at Grocery Outlet. I can find natural soaps from 69 cents to $1.29. They cost at least $3 and up elsewhere.

I like stopping at Grocery Outlet once in awhile for the same reason. They always have some kind of organic and vegan stuff that’s priced way under the regular grocery stores. Every time I go there I’m surprised by what I find.
