We needed some coconut milk for a grilled chicken satay we wanted to make tonight, so I stopped into Safeway to pick that up and to see if I could confirm the FREE KC Masterpiece at a second store. The coconut milk ended up being the most expensive thing I bought at a whopping $2. 🙂 And I was really pleased at everything I purchased for just $10.84.
Here’s what I picked up:
KC Masterpiece BBQ Sauce Hickory Smoke variety – $0.99, Overstock Clearance (confirmed at two stores)
$2 coupon good off any 2 KC Masterpiece BBQ Sauces or Marinades (16 oz or up) – Savings Club coupon learn more here.
Final price = printed two coupons, so I scored four (4) FREE
*Overstock clearance is not guaranteed at every store. But might be worth looking for if you are planning a trip!
Organic Valley Butter – $1.99 on Overstock clearance!! *HOT price*
Plus I had $1/1 Organic Valley Butter coupon from the Seattle Chinook book
Or you can use the $1/1 Organic Valley Butter printable coupon over on Mambo Sprouts right now
Final price = $0.99,
*Stock up price! Wish I had more coupons with me!*
*Overstock clearance is not guaranteed at every store. But might be worth looking for if you are planning a trip!
Classico pizza sauce – $1.12 a jar!
Regular price is $2.29/jar. The sign clearly says 9 for $10 or $1.12 each, but it ended up ringing up for $2.29 and I had to go to customer service for a price adjustment. I almost wish I would have picked up more, I like the resealable jar, a lot of times pizza sauces come in cans and then I have to use a tupperware container to keep the extras.
Francesco Rinaldi pasta sauce – $1.25
Some were marked Overstock clearance and others were just marked $1.25, like a sale. I think this is a great price, so I picked a couple up.
Safeway Orange Juice – $2.50 – 50% off manager markdown = $1.25
This is the only way we buy refrigerated juice – otherwise we stick to water.
Thai Kitchen Coconut milk – $2
Meals to make with these items: We plan to use the coconut milk in a grilled chicken satay tonight – if it works out, I’ll share it. We’ve been wanting to try our hand at grilled pizza – so we’ll use the pizza sauce for that. The pasta sauce will be great for easy meal nights when we just want spaghetti in less than 10 minutes. 🙂 And I can use the barbecue sauce next time I find some pork roast on sale and make pulled pork in the crockpot!
Other deals I spotted, but didn’t buy personally:
Grape Nuts – $2.99
$1/1 Grape Nuts or Shredded Wheat coupon
Final price = $1.99!
*great price for this cereal*
Millstone coffee, 12 oz bag – $6.99
$1.50/1 Millstone Coffee, 10 oz+ prepack bag or 12 ct K-cup packs
Final price = $5.49 each
Star Olive Oil – $9.79, buy one, get one FREE
$1/1 Star Olive Oil 07/22/2012 SS insert (exp 09/30/2012)
Final price = only $4.39, using one $1/1 coupon. Safeway’s coupon policy is NOT to accept coupon on FREE item.
Huggies Little Swimmers – $7.99
$1/1 Huggies Little Swimmers
Final price = $6.99

Yesterday I went a Safeway in Tacoma and found lots of good items on clearance. It was a lot more than usual. They had so many can goods, cake mixes, and ethnic food items.

Robyn says
Just curious, at which Safeway did you find the butter? Thanks!
Heather says
I found it at the Yelm Highway Safeway, in Lacey, Washington. The one kitty corner to QFC. Do you live in the area? I would check there! Also another reader reported finding the same deal at the Safeway in the city of Yelm, WA.

Do you have a Trader Joe’s near you? They sell coconut milk for $1. Great deals you found tho!

Ooh, thanks for the heads up! Trader Joe’s is all the way across town. 🙁 But I’ll have to remember to stock-up next time I’m over there. I love TJ’s!
