Target – Holiday merchandise 75% off

I was at Target this afternoon and found that holiday merchandise was marked down to 75% (this is in West Olympia, Washington). I would call your local store to confirm they’ve dropped it to 75% before making the trip.

They had five aisles of stuff – so lots to choose from right now. There were a TON of ornaments, in fact I thought most of it was ornaments. They had a few things that would work as non-Christmas. . .

  • Plain colored place mats in cream, red and green. The cream you could use year round and the red would be great for Fourth of July, Valentine’s Day or Thanksgiving. The green could be good for Saint Patrick’s Day or perhaps in the summer with some other accents. These were $9.99 regular price, so $2.50 on sale.
  • Kleenex in holiday boxes marked down to $0.97 a box.
  • Making Memories craft glue, marketed for making custom stockings – but I’m sure it would work for any crafts. It was $2.99, so it would be $0.75 cents on sale.

They also had a few aisles of toys that were 30% off. I’m betting those will drop down to 50% pretty soon because they didn’t seem to be moving at this price. Make sure and print the Playskool toy coupons at coupons.com to pair up with clearance toys.

The decoration/home decor section had some nice “winter” decorations that were marked down 30%. Most of these items are pretty high priced to begin with, so I didn’t see any amazing deals, but I’ll be watching for it to drop down to 90%.

I actually didn’t buy much today at Target (last year I got some great finds, but I went earlier in the day). I bought 18 gallon storage totes for only $3.50 (cheaper than Fred Meyer and KMart which are $3.89-$3.99). I did buy one stocking, for my son Liam, who was using a hand-me-down one this year. It was only $3.50 (regular price $12.99).

Let me know if you find anything exciting at your Target. I want to hear about your great after Christmas finds!

Our Target was pretty picked over in Puyallup, but the on-line sales are still good.
I did find 64oz. Mott’s apple juice on sale for $1.79, combined with the printable coupon from Target for $1 off, it was $.79!
