I LOVE Trader Joe’s – they have reasonable prices on healthy, fun, foods. A lot of their products are the Trader Joe brand, so they don’t have coupons available, but you can use manufacturer coupons for brand-name products! Products and prices vary by store/region, but these are some of my favorite finds at my local Trader Joe’s.
By far, my FAVORITE frugal find at Trader Joe’s is their FRESH pizza dough! It’s only $1.29 and can be found in the deli section. It’s available in wheat or white. It’s a pound of dough, just enough for one large pizza. All you have to do is take it home, take it out 20 minutes before baking your pizza and cover it with your favorite toppings. This is so much cheaper than Boboli or other pre-made pizza crusts. It is probably a little cheaper to make your own dough from scratch, but if you don’t want to hassle or take the time – only $1.29 is a great deal! This can be a fun activity with kids – my toddler son LOVES topping his pizza and it makes dinner time a family affair.
Another great deal at Trader Joe’s is McCann’s Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal. It’s only $4.99 for a big canister! This costs $7.99-$8.99 at other grocery stores! PLUS, you can use this $1/1 printable coupon to get it for only $3.99! What a deal.
Trader Joe’s cycles a lot of products through monthly – so you never know what kinds of seasonal products they’ll have in. When I went yesterday I was super excited to find this HUGE basil plant for only $2.99. It smells and tastes divine. Basil is an expensive ingredient at traditional grocery stores – but Trader Joe’s always has very competitive prices on it. I ended up putting some of this fresh basil on our pizzas last night and then will put the big plant in the garden.
Because they have mostly Trader Joe’s brand items, they don’t see a lot of manufacturers coupons come through. I think people don’t realize you can use them. So if you are going to use manufacturers coupons – make sure and mention it to your cashier BEFORE they start your order. I think I remember that they have to enter them in BEFORE the product or something weird – so just give them a heads up.
What are you favorite Trader Joe’s products? I want to hear from you, leave a comment below!

I have a Trader Joes less than 1 mile from my home. My favorite bargains there are nuts, trail mix, dried fruit, pasta, frozen potstickers, rice cakes, teas, and small rice crackers. YUM!

Organic Sweet Potatoes! They are very cheap and come in a 3 lb bag. They say if you are trying to go organic, potatoes are the #1 item to start with…they are loaded with pesticides. Also if you are a vegetarian they have the BEST prices on Tofurky. I’m scared to try the pizza dough!

They usually have the best price on grape tomatoes. They are usually $1.99 a container (a lb?)and my family loves them. I also get nuts there and on occasion wine. They have really good wine prices!

I LOVE TRADER JOES!! So glad to see a fellow couponer who isn’t ashamed to admit that they shop there.. I love so many things there.. Flatbread, Lemon Loaf, Salad Mixes, Tortilla Chips, Orange Chicken, Coffee, Flavored Water, Sauces… the list goes on and on.. I shop there once a week and usually spend $30-40. I figure what I didn’t spend at the regular grocery store can be spent there!!
