After years of hearing about Stitch Fix from friends, I finally decided to give the online personal styling service a try!
Stitch Fix is a service for busy folks who would love to have a personal stylist pick out their clothes! I am not a fan of the mall and frankly not a big fan of shopping for clothes in general. So the idea of Stitch Fix was intriguing for me. I had received a coupon for $50 off my first order and I knew the styling fee ($20) was waived – so I decided to give it a try!
I filled out an online survey saying what I liked and didn’t like . . and a week later I had a box full of clothes on my front porch!
I made a collage of the items that came in my first box (see above). I loved, loved the items they picked out. The items were soft, well made, they all fit well (I was surprised about this) and it was so easy. It felt like such a treat to have a box of clothes styled for me, delivered to my house. I think the prices were fair (and I’m cheap!) and I loved the convenience and that I didn’t have to head to the mall. I’m a super indecisive person and I overthink everything – so clothes shopping in general can be hard for me (and exhausting) but this took all the angst and energy out of it – and made it easy!
If you want to give it a try – we have a coupon for $50 off for you – so you can try yourself!
2.) Normally you pay a $20 styling fee when you schedule a box – but the $20 styling fee is WAIVED on your first order (new accounts only).
3.) Follow the prompts to set up your account and tell them everything you like and don’t like. This didn’t take me long and I was shocked what they were able to put together based on these questions.
4.) Wait for your Stitch Fix box to be delivered (it ships free)!
5.) Try on all the items your stylist selected for you. Decide which items you LOVE and want to keep, and what items you want to send back (you only pay for the items you keep!)
6.) Within 3 day of receiving your box, go online and complete your return survey. Rate your items, confirm your payment and tell them what you’re sending back. Your feedback makes your future shipments better!
7.) If you decide to keep all your items you get a sweet 25% discount (awesome!). . .but for the items you don’t want to keep – they give you a prepaid shipping bag to send everything back (so convenient)! Also it’s important to know, on future orders, that if you keep an item, your $20 stylist fee is applied toward your purchase (how cool is that!?!)
8.) I love that the first box is risk free – with the $50 credit, it should cover at least one or two items. And you can send back whatever you don’t love! Also, I love that you can schedule your next Stitch Fix box at your convenience!
Personally, I loved, loved, loved the booties they sent me. I have size 11 feet and I struggle so badly to find cute shoes. But these were perfect and I kept them. I also kept the solid purple soft sweater. The other items fit and were a really nice quality but I’m picky and I didn’t love, love them, so I sent them back. That’s the beauty of Stitch Fix!
I can’t wait to get my next box. And I think I’m going to order a box for my daughter – she’s hard to shop for and with the pandemic we haven’t been hitting up the malls or stores.
Head over and open a Stitch Fix account here – for the next 48 hours you’ll get $50 on your account and your $20 styling fee is waived! Let me know what you think!
