As a family we are taking the last 100 days of 2020 and doing our best to fill it with joy and good. – by doing at least 100 intentional acts of kindness before the year is up. We are three weeks in and here’s what we’ve done as a family. . .
- Baked a batch of rolls for my neighbor
- Mailed a set of books to my nephew in Alaska
- Sent an encouraging card to a friend who is battling cancer
- Sent $50 restaurant gift card to a friend on the anniversary of losing a child
- Sent an encouraging card to my sister
- Sent a birthday card to a friend
- Sent a package of costume/dress-up jewelry for my niece in Alaska
- Sent an encouragement card and a Starbucks gift card to a friend going through a divorce
- Wrote a thank you letter to my daughter’s teacher with a Starbucks gift card
- Gifted a collection of baking supplies via a Buy Nothing Group to three different people
- Left a 50% tip on a food takeout order
- Purchased tuna at grocery store to drop off at Food Bank
- Sent flowers to a friend who lost her husband
- Gave cookies to the UPS delivery person
- Dropped a bouquet of flowers off on a neighbor’s porch
- Donated blood
- Left a 50% tip on a food takeout order
- Made a blanket for great grandma who just moved to a new place
- Called a family friend I haven’t talked to in awhile.
- Made a batch of my grandma’s rolls for my aunt and cousin
- Sent thank you card to my mom for coming to visit
- Sent a “congrats!” card to a friend who got engaged
- Sent a “house warming” package to a family member who just moved into a new house

- Kids made a picture and wrote a letter to great grandma who they haven’t seen in awhile
We are 21 days into our goal and I’m happy that we at 25 intentional acts of kindness. Many of our acts of intentional kindness cost just $1.05 – just a card from the Dollar Tree ($0.50) and a Forever stamp ($0.55). And some are just a commitment of time or energy – like donating blood or picking up garbage on the road (we hope to do that this week).
What are some ways you can show someone intentional kindness or compassion? What kinds of things can you do to bring more joy and good into the world!?

I sent some homemade cards from the kids I nanny for (3 and 1)to another cancer survior/ patient . she had to have another surgery and round of chemo. I met her while I was recovering from Breast cancer she has colon cancer in an exercise class for cancer patients. I Thought this would cheer her up and be a surprise to her.
We also made a Happy Halloween sign for our dear library . They hung it up.
Also made a Happy Birthday sign for their breakroom and made the names of the librarians so they can switch them out to whoever’s bday it is. Since they haven’t had programs in the library yet.
Made a few Happy birthday cards. also an Happy Anniversary sign for their mom and dad.
Invited our neighbor who is in our bubble to have a picnic with us.
we wave to the recycling man each week before nap.. He looks up to the window where the children are. I tell them you made him smile.
Pick up the phone and talk with my cousin who is more like an aunt to me and make sure she is doing ok. at least once a week.
