How many stores should you shop at each week to get the deals? I get asked this question a lot. My answer? As few as possible. The more time you spend in the stores – the more money you spend. Always. Stores are set up to sell and we are programmed to buy – so I say the fewer stores you frequent the fewer dollars you will spend. I personally try to shop once or twice a week (more if I’m scouting out prices for your guys!) but I really hate shopping, so I don’t want to make multiple trips and tackle multiple stores. Once you build your stockpile you’ll find you can be more picky about your shopping trips and only pick up the rock-bottom priced items.
And remember – if you find yourself driving across town to save $1-$2 you probably aren’t saving.
In honor of August being the back-to-school month, I’ll be posting a different coupon question/tutorial everyday for the month of August! Some of the posts will be really basic Coupon 101, but others will be more in depth. If you have a question you’d like me to cover, please leave a comment on this post or e-mail me!
