Rise and Shine is my way of sitting down and having a cup of coffee with you! We talk about the new deals of the day, highlights from yesterday, and anything else that might help us save time, money or energy. I share with you what’s happening with me – and I LOVE to hear about what’s happening with you.
Good morning! So I guess it’s Monday AND tax day. There should be some sort of that law that says both can’t happen on the same day. 🙂 Hopefully you have your taxes done and/or an extension. There are probably some tax day freebies today (like free fries at Arby’s) – I’ll see if I can round some up. Do you know of any other tax day deals or freebies?
Yesterday was a good day. We did not end up building a gardening raised bed like I was hoping. My sweet husband did remove an old bush/tree thing that we had cut back to a stump. And now that this is out, we have a place for the raised bed – so that’s awesome. I’m not sure I did anything worth noting except taking my kids out for Lime Berry (local ice cream shop) last night. 🙂 They love picking their toppings and I love that things like ice cream still get them as giddy as if we’d flown to Disneyland.
I shared yesterday about how I like to organize my freezer. I’ve used this technique for years and it has worked like a charm. Some of you asked about how to organize a chest freezer, as I have an upright. If you have a chest freezer – please chime in – how do you organize your food? I grew up with a chest freezer that felt like the entire state of Alaska – it was huge and it was hard to organize. I think I’d use the same concept of freezing things flat and storing in boxes with like items together. You might need to work with smaller boxes, if you are lifting them out, but I think it would be a good place to start. We debated between a chest and upright freezer when we purchased this last year – but I have to say I’m very pleased with the upright style.
If you dig designer purses, you’ll want to check out Kendra’s Secondhand Treasure she sent in for Secondhand Sunday. She paid just $30 for a $1500 Gucci purse. It’s beautiful and well, the savings, are crazy. Way to go Kendra! Send in your favorite thrift shop or secondhand finds and if I feature it on Queen Bee, you’ll get a $10 Amazon gift card!
