The secondhand sunday deals continue to roll in – you all are awesome at finding Secondhand Treasures! This week I got an email from Julie, who scored this brand new Ronco Showtime Rotisserie and BBQ for FREE thanks to her local Freecycle group!
This rotisserie popped up on Julie’s local freecycle group last week and she was the first one to respond, so she got it! Not only was it brand new, but it came with a whole bunch of accessories, too. Can’t beat FREE! That’s a savings of 100 percent. This same rotisserie is retailing on Amazon for $150 plus tax (Ronco ST5000PLGEN Showtime Rotisserie Platinum Edition). They already put it to work this week.
Great job Julie! Stock up on those whole fryers when they drop to $0.79 or $0.99 a pound and you’ll have some very frugal and easy dinners with that fancy gadget!
Secondhand Sunday is a series I’m doing through to feature deals that readers are finding secondhand – either at a thrift shop, garage sale or on Craigslist. It’s to encourage us all to consider secondhand purchases when we try to save money. Julie will get a $10 Amazon gift card for sending in her secondhand treasure! So really. . .it’s like she actually came out $5 ahead. Love it.
Since we started this series, here are some of the secondhand treasures we’ve featured:
- Keurig coffee machine, only $1 at garage sale, received a new one from Keurig (reg. $180)
- Bought old violin for $5, resold for $125!
- Chicco Double Stroller $40, valued at $299
- A FREE Baby Grand Piano valued at $1,000
- Beth saves 97% off a KitchenAid Professional Mixer
- Seneca saves 99% off a Harveys Seatbelt Designer Purse
- Kristyle saved more than $160 off a Bissell Spotbot
- Kendra’s Gucci purse for just $30
Send in your secondhand treasures and if I feature your score here on the blog, you’ll get a $10 Amazon gift card!
- I’ll be featuring one secondhand score each Sunday
- If I feature your thrift-store or garage sale treasure here on the blog you’ll get a $10 Amazon gift card!
- Please email me a photo at thehive@queenbeetoday.com – include in the email a short description of what you found secondhand, what you paid for it and what you think it retails for. Use subject line Secondhand Treasure when you send the email.
- Try to take a photo that is not blurry and is in good light (try natural light, no flash, if possible). The better your photo the more likely it will be to make it on the site. People want to see what you got!
- If you bought something secondhand and restored it or improved it somehow – I’d love before and after photos!
I’d love to hear – have you ever scored an awesome deal on Freecycle?
