I’ve already started seeing an influx of FREE shipping offers. I have a hard time finding a really great deal if I have to pay shipping, so I try to only post offers with FREE shipping or those that have a nominal charge.
Ship to store option. Sites like Walmart.com usually have a Ship to Store option which is FREE.
Free shipping, no minimum. I’m guessing we will see LOTS of retailers offering FREE shipping with no minimum purchase. No minimum purchase means you can find an item for $2 and have it shipped for FREE. Watch the fine print, lots of online retailers will offer free shipping* and then in fine print it will require a minimum purchase
Always FREE shipping. Some sites offer FREE shipping always including – Nordstrom, LL Bean, Zappos.com, and Amazon.com (on select items or qualifying orders of $25).
Watch daily deal voucher offers. A major pet peeve of mine is blogs or sites advertising “$30 voucher to XYZ store for only $10” and then you find out that shipping is $10. That’s not a deal – it’s like you’re buying a glorified coupon code! So pay special attention to deals like this. I always try to find out shipping costs and disclose them in the post. This is especially important if you’re buying vouchers as a gift for someone – what a bummer if they have to fork over shipping on their own gift.
Shop online a lot? Check into services like ShopRunner – If you want to save on shipping all year long you can look into programs like ShopRunner that offer FREE 2-day shipping all year for an annual membership of $79.95 a year or $8.95 a month. You can try it free for 30 days and you can cancel anytime before those 30 days are up without being charged the annual fee. I found the “How it works” videos on the ShopRunner website to be really helpful in explaining it.
