Update – Thanks to everyone entered this giveaway! The winner was selected August 15, 2014. See winner information here.
I’m thrilled to announce a very generous giveaway for Adrift Hotel in Long Beach, Washington. We LOVE this place! In fact, we just had the pleasure of going for two-nights this month and I couldn’t wait to tell you all about it.
Adrift Hotel and Spa is located right on the beach in Long Beach, Washington – about a two-hour drive from Olympia, Washington. It’s our go-to place every time we want to escape to the beach. The rates are affordable, the rooms comfortable and the customer service top-notch. They are incredibly pet-friendly if you like to travel with your four-legged friends, but they also have pet-free rooms available as well.
Adrift Hotel is very urban, chic and minimalist – which I adore. Most all of the design, furniture and decor is made with reclaimed wood and supplies. The lobby is probably one of my favorite hotel lobbies ever.
Think pallets and mason jars. It’s minimalist design but still comfortable and hip.
The lobby has a great mini-store with snacks, wine, beer and local treats.
And complimentary coffee and delicious water – which I love. It’s the little things like this, I think, that make you feel like you’re on vacation. They even have a dog bowl in the lobby, if you’re bringing your pets. There are no coffee pots in the room, but they have fresh-brewed coffee in the lobby that is locally roasted and delicious!
They have a line-up of complimentary beach cruisers for guests to use.
Rooms
The Adrift Hotel has two buildings – the main building (West Building) with the lobby, restaurant, etc. and then an East Building with additional rooms. We have stayed in both buildings before and enjoyed them both. This last time we stayed in the East Building and I loved the decor in our room (see photo above). It had “Embrace Family” painted on the wall, simple photography, clean lines and the room was tidy and comfortable. You can see photos of all Adrift rooms here.
We stayed in a room with two queen beds – which works great when we travel with the kids.
The beds are nothing fancy but SO COMFORTABLE – we always sleep so good when we stay here. In the summer we leave the windows open and you can hear the ocean, complete with salty sea breeze.
Many of the rooms has a great view of the beach. Each of the rooms has a basic TV and DVD player. They have a bunch of movies in the lobby that they rent out on the honor system. We watched Chicken Little one night after a long day at the beach. They also have board games you can borrow from the lobby – which we usually take advantage of during the winter months when we aren’t outside as much.
Pickled Fish and Live Music
The [Pickled Fish] restaurant in the hotel is AMAZING! We look forward to eating here every time we are in Long Beach.
They have high-quality ingredients and delicious combinations of local, organic, and humanely raised ingredients. Check out the current [Pickled Fish] menus here.
Every time we go to the Adrift we bring the kids along and the Pickled Fish kid’s menu is one of the best kid’s menus we’ve ever seen. Pictured above my daughter ordered a plate of macaroni with parmesan and butter.
And this would be the cheeseburger my son ordered from the kid’s menu! Both kid’s meals were under $5 each – and they put as much effort and quality into them as they do the regular menu items – which my kids sure enjoyed! They make their own brioche buns – amazing. And the french fries are perfect. 🙂
My husband ordered the special of the day – a halibut with an olive tapenade, resting on a pile of pork belly/pulled pork hash. It tasted as good as it looks! I ordered the cheeseburger with local cheese and apple-smoked bacon, washed down with a Dog Days Pale Ale from Fort George brewery. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough – you definitely need to stop in and eat!
And if you’re up for dessert – check out the ice cream sandwich sundae they have on the dessert menu – we shared it between all four of us and it was delicious. For about $6 the dessert was enough to satisfy all of us!
If you’re into good beer and drinks they have an amazing bar. They always seem to have local beers on draft and fancy cocktail drinks. They also have LIVE music most nights.
The beach
One of my favorite things about the Adrift is it’s close proximity to the beach. It’s just a short walk and you’re playing in the sand. This makes it incredibly convenient – especially when going with small kids.
Between the hotel and the beach you’ll find a public restroom and picnic tables. The picnic tables have fire pits and act as a shelter to the wind.
The Adrift lobby has some beach toys for kids to use for playing at the beach that you can check out on an honor system. But we always just pack a big bag of toys (the Dollar Tree is a great place for beach toys!). We like to pack: sand buckets and shovels, beach towels, sunglasses, sunblock, kites, frisbies or sports balls, flip flops, change of clothes, snacks/picnic foods. Expect to be covered in sand – that’s part of the fun. You will have to vacuum out your car when you’re done – but I promise it’s worth it.
We could spend hours building things in the sand and running around. You can also spend lots of time beach combing.
Or digging holes. . .and filling them with water. The beach is always a lot of fun for everyone in our family – and don’t forget the beach is FREE entertainment!
We adore the Adrift hotel and have recommended it to many friends and family members looking for a place to stay in Long Beach, Washington.

There was a house that a family rented out when the kids where little that we stayed in. The owners created a scavenger hunt for the families. It was one of the fondest memories I have EVER made with my kids. They had us all over Long Beach, checking off the items on the list. My favorite was going to the old settler’s cemetery, looking for the headstones of one of the original families. It was so cool! I’d LOVE to take them back there, now that they are older. 🙂 Such a great place.
