I’m suffering a major case of deal and technology burnout. Maybe you are, too? I’m stepping away from the bright computer screen to soak in the bright lights of the Season with my sweet babies and family. With my kids being six (6) and three (3) years old, these are the holiday memories I want to freeze in time.
Yesterday I made sugar cookies with the kids.
And I made fudge for the first time – but missed the part in the instructions that says “remove from heat to stir in remaining ingredients.” So well I fudged that up.
I took two naps and watched two Christmas movies with my kids.
I wrapped presents and sent a few last Christmas cards.
I put out the Elf on the Shelf one last time.
I fell asleep on the couch at 8:30 p.m. (yes, even after two naps).
It was the perfect day.
Tonight and tomorrow we celebrate with family near and far. We eat too much. We love and laugh a little more. We have the privilege of singing Happy Birthday to Jesus and remembering the reason for the Season. We soak in the the smiles from the kids – who believe in the good and magic of the season with the youthful innocence that seems so rare these days.
I’ll be back December 26. But will be posting minimally until the New Year. Because I want to soak this in, my friends. Because the best things in life are free – but not from any coupon or sale. They are these blessings we have around us – the people, the memories, the love.
Hoping you’re surrounded by love. Hope you’re soaking in the Season. Hope you’re surrounded by hope and light and love.
Merry Christmas. May all BEE Merry and Bright with you.
