Here’s another shopping trip sent in by a Queen Bee reader – way to go Nina! She ended up only paying $0.10 cents for everything pictured above after coupons, doublers and catalinas! She did four transactions (most stores will let you do at least three, but check with the cashier beforehand). You can only use three doublers were transaction – that’s the reason for multiple transactions.
Here’s a breakdown of what she bought and how she saved:
Welch’s Jam – $2, bought two
Used two $0.75/1 Welch’s Natural Spreads 04/01/2012 RP Insert (exp 06/30/2012)
Used TWO doublers
Paid out of pocket = $1, plus received $1 catalina
Final price = FREE after catalina
King’s Hawaiian Hot Dog Buns – $2
$1/1 King’s Hawaiian Hamburger, Hot Dog, or Sandwich buns or mini sub rolls 05/20/2012 RP Insert (exp 07/22/2012)
Used FOUR doublers (over multiple transactions)
Final price = FREE
Beech Nut coupons – $0.59 cents
$1/3 Beech Nut printable coupon
DOUBLED = FREE, plus $0.23 cent money maker (applies to rest of order)
Beech Nut rice cereal – $1.89
$1/1 Beech Nut rice cereal printable coupon
DOUBLED = FREE, plus $0.11 cent money maker (applies to rest of order)
Kikkoman Teriyaki marinade – $1.89 each, bought two
Used two $1/1 Kikoman teriyaki printable coupons
Used two DOUBLERS = FREE plus $0.22 cent money maker
PLUS, received $1 catalina, so a $1.22 money maker
Kraft dressing – $1.99, buy one, get one FREE
DOUBLED $1/2 Kraft Dressings or Kraft Sizzling Salads Dinner Kits 05/20/2012 SS Insert (exp 06/17/2012)
Final price = two FREE
Maruchan yakisoba – $1.39, buy one get one FREE
DOUBLED $0.50/1 coupons from 5/20 Smart Source
Final price = $0.39 cents each (covered by overage)
Sparkling Ice was FREE with a coupon she received from their Facebook page, that they mailed to her. The only reason she had to pay $0.10 was to cover the cost of the apple her adorable son grabbed in the store and started munching on.
Not bad Nina! I’m super impressed and your kiddo is so cute!

Anyone else have a shopping trip they want to share? I LOVE to share reader shopping trips. If you want to be featured on Queen Bee email me at thehive@queenbeetoday.com with a description of what you bought, what coupons you used and I’d love a clear, focused picture, too!
I would love to read a doubler now but I dont have any to check .. but I just checked and double checked their policy and no where does it say its not allowed..
Racheal, I was not aware of that the two stores I frequent always give me the overage I also carry their policy I have it in front of me it states *coupons that eceed the retail value of an item will have the remaining amount applied to the balance of the transaction. In the event a transaction balance results in a “credit” , additional items WILL be added/suggested to the order to utilize the remaning value of the coupon. we will not provide any “cash back” on coupons; however we will provide full redemtion value.. and that was straight from their current policy I dont have the ttv in front of me so I cant check that.. I am pretty certain I was not doing anything wrong as the cashiers the stores I frequent I am sure would know since they have worked there a number of years but, who knows policies frequently change, but I would never do anything to jeopordize couponing for myself or others.. but I will double check next time I am there I will also email them because I have NEVER had a problem and they always give me the overage..
Nina how are you getting overage with your doublers. Doublers are only suppose to cover the product not produce overage.(kikkoman and beach nut) Albertsons does not pay you to take product, only the manufactures pay you on overage. Like if you have a product that is valued at say .89 and you have a $1 coupon then do you get the .11 overage. It states in their coupon policy that doublers can not exceed the product value. I believe also it states right on the doubler itself.
Darn, I messed up!
Rachel, you are right! I didn’t realize this when I posted the trip. I thought Albertsons allowed overage on doubler, but it’s only overage if the coupon exceeds the value of the product (without doubler). Technically she should have paid an additional $0.78 for the overage from the doublers that was given in error.
I’m sorry I didn’t catch this sooner!
Thanks for pointing it out Rachel!
I have seen it happen! I never count on it, and it is only for a few pennies here and there, but it does happen that way sometimes. I don’t know if the cashiers force it that way, or if the registers allow it for whatever reason.
Yay Nina! You Rock!
Nice job Nina!!!
I didn’t get any doublers either and I live in the Olympia area. In Fridays or Sunday’s. What about anyone else?
I hope you covered that outlet that is open.
Did not get doublers in this mornings paper and I did not receive them in Friday’s paper either. I live in Graham I am not sure how they were distributed?
Did anyone else not get doublers in their TNT this morning?
This week they were in Friday’s paper – http://queenbeetoday.com/2012/06/check-your-newspaper-today-for-albertsons-doublers/
