QFC is a great place to shop this week for stock-up prices on canned beans and chicken broth, plus lots of other great deals. I went today and bought everything pictured above for $37. It should have been $30 if I had more self-control and had planned ahead, but I’ll explain that more later.
The QFC promotion that is making these hot deals is Buy 10, save $5. It’s mix and match with items from all over the store, but you have to buy in groups of ten. I bought 20 of those qualifying items and saved $10.
Here are some of the deals I got:
S&W canned beans – $0.49 (when you buy 10)
Use the $0.50/2 S&W Beans coupon from 9/11 Red Plum
or $1/5 S&W Beans printable coupon
Final Price: $0.24
STOCK UP PRICE
Annie’s Mac ‘n cheese – $0.69 (when you buy 10)
STOCK UP PRICE
Imagine organic free range chicken broth – $1.99 (when you buy 10)
$1/1 Imagine Broth, Stock, Soup, or Gravy 10/16/2011 SS Insert (exp 1/31/2012)
or $1/2 Imagine Food
or the ones I purchased at $1.50/2 peelie coupons. Because I had the $1/1 coupons, I’ll save the $1.50/2 coupons for later. They don’t expire until 12/31/12!
Final Price = as low as $0.99
STOCK UP PRICE
Whole roasting chicken – $0.88 cents a pound
Mine was only $4.22!
Organic Baby carrots – $0.79 on clearance
Satsuma oranges 5 lbs – $3.99
Kroger cheese 2 lb block – $4.99
Not the best deal, but we needed cheese. $2.50 a pound is not bad. I prefer $1.50/lb or less as a stock-up price.
And why my bill should have probably been $7 cheaper
$2.99 for potato wedges for the kids. I swear these are worth every penny because they sit so quietly and just munch away while I do my shopping. But if I had planned ahead I could have packed a snack from home. And no lectures – I know it’s not the healthiest thing to feed my offspring.
$3.99 for the vegetable tray. This was regularly $9.99 and on manager mark down for $4.99. It had a $1 peelie making it only $3.99. It’s two pounds of veggies – so it comes out to $2/lb for veggies, not the best. I think I kind of have a little buyer’s remorse. But my son loves veggies and would eat a whole platter by himself, so I won’t lose any sleep over it.
Both of these items boil down to convenience – feeding the kids on the fly and prepared veggies (which cost more than not-prepared veggies). But I’ll give myself a get-outta-jail-free card this time and I won’t worry about it too much. Feeling guilty for these little luxuries takes all the fun out of the savings. 🙂
And I saved an extra $5 off my total purchase because I used the $5 off $50 QFC coupon from the South Sound Entertainment Book!
Overall I saved $16.75 just with coupons. And $61.51 combining coupons and sales.
You can get a complete list of QFC deals over here.
What kinds of deals are you finding this week?
Chelley says
Yay! I got pretty much everything on my list and scored these great stock-up prices.
I didn’t have time to take a picture, but I got 14 cans of beans, 3 cans of S&W Petite Diced Tomatoes, 2 half-gallon and 2 shelf-stable cartons of Almond Breeze almond milk, 2 bags of C&H sugar, 3 cartons of Imagine organic broth, 2 boxes of Kleenex, 1 jar of Best Foods Olive Oil mayonnaise and 8 bottles of Smartwater. I paid just $33.71 for $81 worth of groceries! Plus, since I bought 4 Blue Diamond products, I got a catalina for $4 off my next shopping trip.
This was one of my better stock-up trips, but I could have saved even more, except I brought the wrong Kleenex coupons with me and I didn’t shop in multiples of 10. I actually paid 79 cents each for 5 cans of the beans when it could have been 49 cents each if I would have just bought 5 more.
I also received catalinas for $1.50 of 2 Imagine soup/broth/gravy, $3.00 off any Spectrum Organics cooking oil and $1.00 off one Rice Dream product.
P.S. Does anyone know if you can use QFC catalinas at Fred Meyer?
Lisa says

Which QFC do you shop at?
Danielle says
Okay help me out with this. Is it really worth it to buy the cartons or even cans of broth? Isnt it far cheaper to use the granules (bouillon cubes)? Or is there that much of a quality difference?
Robin says
I am with ya on the potato wedges. Sometimes, you just got to give in and get them. its these small treats they will remember when they are older 🙂
Nichol says
Did you need to break your 20 items up into 2 transactions in order to save $5 twice?
Heather says
Nope. You can do it all in one transaction. Buy 30 items and you’ll save $15. It just $5 for every 10 items. 🙂
Heather J. says
$3.99 is totally worth it for the veggies! Now to get MY son to eat more of them!!
Heather says
Thanks for making me feel better Heather. They are already half-gone. 🙂
