Good morning! Rise and shine, it’s November!
Hope you had a fun and safe Halloween. What did you do? We had great fun. The kids had two different harvest parties and then we went trick-or-treating in downtown Olympia at the local businesses. The rain cleared up around 4 so it we didn’t get too soaking!
My 5-year-old son helped pass out candy at our house and he opened the door to one group of kids and said, “Hey. . . aren’t you all a little old to be trick-or-treating?” I about died but it was so true, they were way too old and weren’t even really dressed up. But he filled their bags and said, “I’ll give you candy anyway. Have a Happy Trick-or-Treating Day, even if you’re old!” Oh my, 5 year olds are a little too honest sometimes. 🙂

RECIPES & MEAL PLANNING
Did you see the whole roasting chicken recipe for the slow cooker I posted yesterday? It’s a keeper! I hope you like it, too. I’m going to work on a round-up post of all the slow cooker recipes we posted in October. You can view them all here.
New grocery ads start today (it’s an odd week, starting Thursday instead of Wednesday this week). Find your ads for  Safeway, QFC, Albertsons (reports of doublers), and TOP/Food and Haggen will be up later today. We are working on a doubler list that should be up later today or tomorrow. We have also heard rumblings that we could have Albertsons DOUBLERS everyday through Thanksgiving!
I still don’t know what kind of series I want to do for November yet. Ha! I still have time to figure that out, right? I was thinking a Bake Friday series would be fun – sharing a couple baking recipes each Friday. But I don’t know. When I figure it out, you’ll be the first to know!
