Good morning!
Things were a little slow around the blog yesterday because I took a mental health day (kinda). Some days you just need to step away from the computer, even especially when you’re a blogger. It was good. I got a fire going in the woodstove, cleaned my kitchen, scrubbed my bathrooms, picked up kid’s rooms, made some important phone calls (anyone else hate the phone?), cleaned out the fridge and got some good play time/snuggles with the kids. It was all badly needed and it felt good. But I’m back at the blogging today!
Albertsons deals were posted yesterday (doublers again this weekend), QFC deals were posted and TOP Foods/Haggen deals were posted. Each store has something great to offer this week so you’ll want to check it out!
Some of you were able to snag Kindles yesterday as part of an Amazon Lightning Deal! That was exciting. You can see a line up of the Amazon Lightning deals here.
I have another exciting giveaway planned – I’ll be posting it by 7 a.m. stay tuned! I’ll give you a clue – it will be valid nationwide and it will be perfect for a date night or a family-friendly night on the town!

RECIPES & MEAL PLANNING
Yesterday for dinner I threw a few chicken breasts into the crockpot with a bottle of barbecue sauce and we had very gourmet barbecue chicken sandwiches for dinner, using King Hawaiian hamburger buns I got for FREE with doublers this summer (I froze them).
Later today I think I’m going to try and brine a turkey. Yes, my first turkey brine. My sister does this all the time and it turns out amazing, so I’m going to give it a try. And of course, I’ll report back.

Thanks for the Urban Farm code – got it! Looks like a fun magazine! I have a 125 square foot garden in the front yard (here in Edmonds, WA) and get LOTS of food from it each year!
Today is our 2nd “Thanksgiving Feast” for my preschool class I teach (one for MWF, one for TTh). Then, we start decorating for Christmas in our classroom! Next week, our first Thanksgiving without our older son, now down at UCLA – sniff!
