Rise and Shine is my way of sitting down and having a cup of coffee with you! We talk about the new deals of the day, highlights from yesterday, and anything else that might help us save time, money or energy. I share with you what’s happening with me – and I LOVE to hear about what’s happening with you.
Good morning! What are your plans this weekend? Are you doing anything fun?
Yesterday I shared a post about a county park, Usery Mountain Regional Park, that we visited while in Arizona. It’s a completely random post about a random park in Arizona. But it’s just one post I plan to do featuring different places we have visited. You can save a lot of money by visiting local parks while you’re on vacation.
I stopped into Trader Joe’s yesterday. Although they have a lot of specialty prices, I really think their prices are really reasonable, what do you think? Some of my favorite deals I found yesterday where their basil plants for $2.99 (I love these), rice cakes $1.49, kale, spinach and some other produce. On the suggestion of a friend I bought a jar of Sunflower Seed Nut Butter – not cheap at $4.99, but divine. There was a great thread over on the Queen Bee Facebook page of people’s favorite Trade Joe’s items.
Check back around noon to see an update on my garden and chickens! We had our first harvest of strawberries. . .

RECIPES, MEAL PLANNING, GROCERY STORES
LAST day to get your $1 pineapples from Fred Meyer. This deal is amazing. I sent my husband on his way home from work and he picked up five – for $5! Easy peasy shopping list for him and saved me an extra trip. I’ll dice and freeze them and possibly dry some, too (how to dehydrate pineapples)
Check out our recipes by ingredients here – it helps when you see something on sale in the ad and need some inspiration.
Grocery deals for this week – Fred Meyer, Safeway and Albertsons and QFC deals and WinCo deals.
FOR THE LOCAL NW FOLKS

Puget Sound friends – here’s a News Tribune discount! For those of you wanting MULTIPLE Sunday papers, you can get up to NINE (9) of these subscription offers. Just multiple the number of papers you want by the package price. So if you want two Sunday papers delivered each week, you’d buy either two 26-week packages for $78 or you’d pay $104 for an entire year, 52 weeks of delivery. The big bummer is this is a pre-paid offer, so you’d have to pay that up front. But the good news is this can help those of you heading to the Dollar Tree every day and spending the money anyway! Get all the details here.
Have a great day!
