Rise and Shine is my way of sitting down and having a cup of coffee with you! We talk about the new deals of the day, highlights from yesterday, and anything else that might help us save time, money or energy.
Good morning! How’s it going today? The rain is back in the Northwest. I’m hoping it doesn’t hinder the mudslide recovery near Oso, Washington. What a devastating tragedy. My heart breaks for the families and the community. This is a good reminder to have an emergency kit on hand. This can be a big expense, but I recommend breaking it into a weekly checklist and you can slowly build your emergency kit – as sales and coupons become available. Check out this resource Build your Emergency Kit One Week At a Time, it has a great checklist that can get you started building your kit. We will be writing more about this soon – we are considering a post each week to highlight good deals on items in the kit. What do you think about that?

Heather – my husband and I have been talking about putting an emergency kit together for some time, but I am always overwhelmed by the cost of the “ready-made” kits – I would LOVE it if you would add that to your weekly posts! Thoughts and prayers to those families up in Washington…
