Rise and Shine is my way of sitting down and having a cup of coffee with you! We talk about the new deals of the day, highlights from yesterday, and anything else that might help us save time, money or energy. I share with you what’s happening with me – and I LOVE to hear about what’s happening with you.
Good morning! It’s Friday!
Yesterday I got out into the yard and trimmed the tall grass near the raised beds and weeded for more than an hour. I added twine for my peas and I cleaned up the area around my strawberries (read my last garden update here). The kids played in the mud, picked my flowers, played with the chickens and got some fresh air. It felt good to be so productive in the garden and it looks a million times better. It sprinkled on and off, but waited to start pouring until I’d gone into the house! This weekend I hope to plant some new things and we desperately need to move the yard. Once the yard is mowed I’ll take some photos of the chickens – they are getting so big!
Yesterday I shared two exciting giveaways! I’m giving away a $50 California Pizza Kitchen gift card and a $50 Tacoma Goodwill gift card!
Just three more days to take advantage of this month’s Costco Coupon Book. It ends Sunday, June 2, 2013. Don’t forget about our Costco Price Database! We should be getting the newest Costco coupon book soon – and I’ll post those when I get it. Plus we have some fun Costco price lists in the works to help you plan your summer. 🙂
Around noon today we will be sharing a Costco “barbecue” list. It is awesome. It has all the prices for Costco meats, condiments, side dishes, grills and other things you might need for throwing a barbecue this summer. 🙂

Puget Sound friends – here’s a News Tribune discount! For those of you wanting MULTIPLE Sunday papers, you can get up to NINE (9) of these subscription offers. Just multiple the number of papers you want by the package price. So if you want two Sunday papers delivered each week, you’d buy either two 26-week packages for $78 or you’d pay $104 for an entire year, 52 weeks of delivery. The big bummer is this is a pre-paid offer, so you’d have to pay that up front. But the good news is this can help those of you heading to the Dollar Tree every day and spending the money anyway! Get all the details here.
Have a great day!

Kathryn says
I have a set of Cuppow lids and LOVE them! I can’t drink from anything other than quart jars (it’s my Southern roots showing) and they’re perfect. They especially keep my tea from spilling in the car where the cup holders are way too small for jars. I do tend to put a straw through the opening since it’s small and whistles when you drink. I’d imagine you could expand the top vent to stop that but a straw’s easy too… 🙂
