Last week I did the Albertsons gift card promotion – spend $100 on gift cards get $20 in FREE groceries. I ended up netting $110 worth of FREE groceries by purchasing Lowe’s gift cards to pay for our chicken coop we are building. I used $40 of the vouchers the first day and today I went and spent another $60 of them (I’m saving my two $5 rewards for later). I ended up getting everything pictured above for about $1 out of pocket – after the $60 in catalinas. Wahoo. It feels good to get free groceries.

Be on the lookout for a new Game Guide – it has about $10 in FREE coupons in it. I’ll do a post about the coupon book later. It’s near the game boards at the front of the store and looks exactly like the last one.

We are going on a little road trip in the near future, so I did buy more convenience foods than I’d normally buy – like boxed juices, lunch meats (for sandwiches), chips and extra crackers.

I won’t bore you with all the details from my purchase, but here are some of the highlights:

My local Albertsons had tons and tons of manager markdowns in the meat and dairy section. I almost busted into song finding fresh mozzarella  for $2 off with manager markdown and another $1 off with manufacturer coupon – making them only $0.99 a container. These are regularly $5+. I also picked up two packages of lunch meat, both had $3 coupons, making them only $0.99 for the 7 ounce packages – and they don’t expire for an entire week. I’ll be making some sandwiches with the lunch meat, that delicious Tillamook cheese ($4.99 with in-ad coupon), the $0.88 wheat bread (in-ad coupon) and the FREE mustard (see below).

Everyday essentials mustard – $1
$1/1 Everyday Essentials item coupon from Albertsons Sizzlin Game Guide (in-store)
Final price = FREE

Lindsay olives – $1 (must buy 10 participating items)
Used $1/2 Lindsay olive coupons in Albertsons Sizzlin Game Guide (in-store)
Final price = $0.50 cents each
*stock up price* – they will be FREE after doublers starting Sunday, but I didn’t want to make another trip this week. It wouldn’t be worth it to me after gas and time. And my catalinas expire before then.

Corn – $0.50 cents

Tillamook yogurt – $0.50 cents

Cataloupe – $0.57/lb

Barilla pasta -$0.75 cents (must buy 10 participating items)
There is a $0.55/2 coupon scheduled for this weekend, but I didn’t want to make another trip this week. It wouldn’t be worth it to me after gas and time. And my catalinas expire before then. I’ll save those coupons for the next promotion.

Wheat bread, hamburger, hot dog buns – $0.88 cents, with in-ad coupon

Straws – $0.99
All the smoothies we’ve been having lately cleaned me out. I needed more.

Goldfish crackers – $1.49
Splurge for our road trip.

Wheat thins – $1.99
$1/2 Nabisco tear pad coupon
Final price = $1.49 each

Rolls – $1.99
Tonight we are grilling up the $0.59/lb chicken I found at QFC this week. Leftovers tomorrow will be barbecue chicken sandwiches on these rolls.

French baguettes – $1.99
After I found the $0.99 fresh mozzarella I had to get this bread – I’m going to slice it, rub a little roasted garlic and olive oil on it, then stack it with basil from my garden, mozzarella and tomato. Then bake. Yum. My kids think they are mini pizzas, and well, they kind of are!

Tostito chips – $2.50
They had coupons attached for $1/2 AND they also had coupons for buy one bag of chips get $0.99 in bananas FREE. So I paid $2 a bag and got $0.99 worth of bananas (for each bag). Not too shabby since I was buying the bananas anyway.

Pectin – $4.49
Didn’t have my coupon with me! Yes, it happens to me, too. But I wanted to make jam later today with these amazing strawberries so I picked it up.

We are working on a doubler deal post, so keep an eye out here for the latest Albertsons deals.

We are meeting our friend at Garden Sphere at 1 p.m. – is that too late? Chocolate candy? I have chocolate chips (Ghiradelli). What kind of chocolate candy are you looking for? What else could I bring?

I’d love to barter. Sugar Snap peas, please. Mine are not doing so well in my garden.

Queen Bee has been my go to for many years. Not only how to save on the family grocery budget. But, how to shop. From grocerys to clothes to household. She has saved us hundreds, if not thousands of dollars cumulatively over the years. Thank You! Debby F.

Queen Bee has been one of my favorite pages to follow! A friend kept sharing her deals so I had to start following and I’m so glad I did. I have been able to purchase so many items at great prices because of her posts. She is great about commenting back to questions or even just saying thanks to people who let her know they picked up an item she posted! Christine R.

Queen Bee is an amazing site with great deals no doubt, but my favorite parts are the snippets of silliness, morning coffee, amazing second hand finds. Queen Bee has saved me lots of money, but it's also brightened many a days! Tilla H.

Queen bee has helped me to make Christmas awesome for my kids every year. We follow the blog and are able to stay in budget and get twice as many items for the family. They are the best!! Jessica T.
